
According to the recent Tech Updates, sectors whose demand has increased considerably, OTT platforms are one of them.
⇛Hotstar, the No. 1 OTT platform in India, has received funding of Rs 1113.4 crore from its parent companies. Start India Limited and Start US subsidiary Company LLC. This funding has been received by Novi Digital Pvt Ltd, a company operating Disney Hotstar.
⇛Of this funding, Rs.869.47 crore has been received from Star India. The rest amount of Rs.244.29 crores has been received from LLC. In return these companies have received shares worth 278 cores.
⇛Walt Disney recently stated that Hotstar currently has a total of 8 million paid subscribers in India. Moreover this is the second-largest funding of this year for Hotstart. Earlier in March, the hoster received Rs 1066 crore because IPL was going to begin.
